INTENTIONAL BREATHING FOR BODY, HEART AND MIND

People learn differently, it’s true. The essence of our breathing and meditation class is to help clients tap back into something each of us already instinctually knows. It’s something we were born with.

With stresses of work and daily life, we often find ourselves faced with “fight or flight” situations. This happens far more often that we realize. Understanding this and taking control is where the true benefit of our breathing meditation classes become clear.

Intentional breathing enables you to take control of your breathing, and in turn, your body and mind. It is a tool you can take with you anywhere, and use any time you need it.

Our intentional breathing and meditation classes are backed by remarkable scientific evidence. Care to learn more?

CLIENT TESTIMONIALS

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING…

“If you’re looking for a personal or professional development program that falls outside the traditional scope of an educational program, I encourage you to speak with ML. Her interactive breathing program is enlightening and engaging. Attendees walk away from her program knowing the impact of proper breathing and how it can help reduce stress and allow one to perform at his/her best under pressure. The science behind proper breathing really caught my attention and her in-session exercises were great.”

Holly L. Barocio, Principal Consultant, Growth Play

“Our program’s young adults got a variety of useful takeaways from Mary Lisa’s breathing class. She gave the group a lot of practical knowledge regarding the science behind our breathing habits’ impact on health and how to implement simple, daily practices for improvement. Many of our students and alumni responded with enthusiasm, committing to incorporate the material daily in order to help cope with challenges. We look forward to having Mary Lisa again for the next cohort!”

— Larry Bienz, Employment Placement Manager, Year Up

How Can Intentional Breath Help?

The world and our lives may seem out of control. Accepting that we cannot always change the external world, allows us the freedom to change something within ourselves. The practice of meditation - combining breath, intention and visualization is powerful. It will make you calmer, happier, healthier and more resilient. It’s something you can access anytime, anyplace. Your breath. Your heart. Your mind.

Body = Breath
Heart = Intention
Mind = Visualization

By combining these three things you can harness the power of the physical, emotional and intellectual elements within you.

The breath is the only system in our body that is both autonomic and easily controllable. Did you know that most of us are not breathing correctly, the way our bodies were designed to breathe? Many of us take shallow breaths high up in our chest or even worse, hold our breath during the day. These dysfunctional habits combined with our levels of stress and anxiety are negatively impacting our lives.

Intention can be cultivated. Most of us are unaware of how much we are using intention every day. Worrying that something will happen and constantly talking about what you are afraid of brings you immediately to a feeling that does not serve you. Spending time fostering positive emotions will build a memory that you can return to in times of stress.

Elite athletes have harnessed the power of visualization for decades. You can too. Using your imagination to create the desired outcome in your mind will assist you in achieving your goals. What we condition our mind to think through visualization strongly influences what we believe and therefore affects the outcome.

By purposefully combining proper breathing, intention and visualization in a meditation you can increase focus, improve your physical and emotional well-being and master your life.

Everything Starts With Your Breath

"If I had to limit my advice on healthier living to just one tip, it would be simply to learn how to breathe correctly." - Dr. Andrew Weil

We experience so much tension every day and we make it worse by pushing it down but if we set aside just 5 minutes for a breathwork or meditation practice, we would all feel so much better. We would all be so much more tolerant, more flexible, and more loving.” - Dr. Belisa Vranich
